BAR, standing, head tilt to the R. 13 g ck LO. Accidentally gave R18's terbinafine from confusion with food cup. Tried charging me when put back.

Veterinary Exam, Neuro, Right External Ear Opening:
Patient was manually restrained. Right external ear opening was examined due to concern about possible injury to this area.

Visual exam with magnification of the external ear opening shows moderate swelling (otitis externa) and small amount of old dried blood. Tympanum appears to be intact. No other active drainage or discharge.

Patient has moderate right head tilt as well from trauma but is standing, alert and responsive.

Assessment: AD: otitis externa from traumatic event.

Plan:
Treat with ophthalmic anti-inflammation eye drops 1-2 drop in RIGHT external ear opening BID for the next 7 days.

Ideally order Flurbiprofen Ophthalmic Drops to replace for treatment when possible.

Standing with wings out when we went to grab for treatment. Still ataxic and started walking towards the front when we opened the kennel door. No mutes seen. Slight head tilt to the right. AD is still very swollen and bruised, I would like a vet to look at him this week.

Small amount of frank blood originating from glottis, choana clear, no clotting noted

Head tilting to the right and quite off balance - noticed dried drainage coming from AD. Used optho light to check inside ear. No fresh blood but tympanum looks deflated, therefore likely ruptured. Bruised wit dried blood throughout. Scheduled follow-up to check AD tomorrow as not sure what prognosis would be for this. AS wnl.

QAR, lying down. Stood in defensive posture during grab attempts. Reactive but still quiet in hand while treating. AD bloody and scabbed shut, swabbed out well, cleaned with hydrogen peroxide. Old and fresh blood in mouth, swabbed out at beginning and end of treatment, started gurgling a bit when placed back in kennel. Provided a donut but he stood up and struck at hands.

Bird presents mostly QAR, responsive to visual stimuli and strong but dulled. Standing with wings out when we opened box. Head moves slightly jerkily, shakes a bit when he moves. Some fresh blood in mouth, swabbed out. NSF on rest of body. Finished tx and set up in KR2 - crouched in front of kennel.
